Developer Craig Hall, who built the biggest office development in Frisco, is working on a mixed-use project in Richardson.

The Hall Park at Richardson would contain two office buildings, a small shopping center and seven apartment buildings on almost 30 acres on the Bush Turnpike at Custer Parkway.

The mixed-use project is planned on land Hall has owned for more than a decade. He originally bought almost 60 acres in the Telecom Corridor at the southwest corner of the turnpike and Custer.

Part of the land near the University of Texas at Dallas has already been developed for apartment communities.

Hall Group and Dallas-based Leon Capital have made plans for two 300,000-square-foot office buildings, 420 apartments, a 10,000-square-foot retail center and an 1,100-space parking garage on the land, according to filings with the Richardson Planning and Zoning Commission.

Architecture Demarest designed the 3-story apartment buildings in the project.

"We've sold off pieces for apartments," Hall said.

"We might start one of those office buildings this year."Hall Group's 162-acre Hall Park in Frisco is one of North Texas' most successful office and mixed-use developments, with 17 office buildings and more than 2 million square feet of space.

Plans are in the works to add additional retail, apartments, restaurants and hotel rooms to Hall Park Frisco, which started in 1996.
