Richardson’s semiconductor cluster is led by a global leader in the industry, Texas Instruments, whose corporate headquarters borders Richardson's southern city limits.
TI's new RFAB, a 1.1million SF, state-of-the-art 300mm advanced manufacturing facility in NW Richardson began production in spring 2010. Richardson has been home to many TI employees since it was established in the 1950's due to its close proximity to TI's corporate HQ.
  • TI completed RFAB, an advanced 300mm wafer fabrication facility in June 2006 - a $321 million, 1.1 million SF building on 92 acres at 300 W. Renner Road 
  • RFAB is first LEED-certified semiconductor facility in the world
  • October 2009 TI announced the opening of production and expect to ship 300mm analog chips by fall of 2010
