Richardson Retail Update
Sprouts Farmers Market will be opening in Richardson in the summer of 2008 at Pavilion East Shopping Center at the southeast corner of Coit and Campbell in the former Albertson’s space.
According to Sprouts Vice President of Store Development, Seth Brown, “Richardson was a natural fit; geographically as well as customer type. Since the Albertsons closed, there have been more than 500 calls/emails asking us to go there. We will endeavor to earn and keep the trust and patronage of the Richardson customer, said Mr. Brown.
Sprouts Farmers Market, www.sprouts.com an Arizona based company, is one of the nation's fastest growing retailers sprouting in Arizona, California and Texas. Sprouts specializes in farm fresh produce, purchased from local growers when possible. In addition to the Sprouts store, a non-grocery tenant is under negotiations to take the remainder of the Albertson’s space.
Other retail activity:
- Pappy’s Pet Lodge and Spa, “The place to pamper your pets”, has open a new location in Richardson at 401 W. President George Bush Turnpike in the 190/Central Retail Center between Custer and Alma Drive. Founder and President, Kim Morris has operated her award winning pet care centers for more than five years and has been named “Small Business of the Year” by the Richardson Chamber of Commerce as well as being voted “Best Of” in D Magazine.
- Richardson Village Shopping Center, a redevelopment of the former University Village Center at N. Plano Rd. at E. Belt Line, is now completed with 35,000+ SF of new retail space available and a brand new LA Fitness.
- New owners, the Phillips Edison Company are working on plans for the remodel of Buckingham Square Shopping Center on E. Buckingham Road at S. Plano Road.
- Remodel of Richardson Heights Shopping Center at 75/Central Expressway and W. Belt Line continues.
- A new Walgreen’s on E. Centennial at Whitehall Drive is currently under construction.
