Chairman's Year End Review

By Steve Moon, Bank of Texas - Richardson

As Chairman of the Board for the Richardson Chamber of Commerce, I've had the pleasure of being involved with our community leaders in the following accomplishments over the past year:

The Richardson Economic Development Partnership has reported 24 significant industry expansions and relocations which will result in the addition or retention of 2,396 jobs and the occupancy of 740,000 SF of commercial space. Richardson companies currently occupy over 13 million square feet of office space - nearly a million more than during the height of the telecom boom in the year 2000.

Get Ready for the Live Healthy North Texas 100 Day Challenge

Ready to finally make good on your New Year’s resolution this year and get healthy?  Want to be encouraged and have fun while you do it?  Then join the Richardson Chamber of Commerce as we take part in the Live Healthy North Texas 100 Day Challenge!

This isn’t about running a marathon (although you could if you wanted) or even moving too far out of your comfort zone.  It is about taking some simple steps to help you to start down the path of making healthy lifestyle changes from wherever you are right now in your fitness routine – even if you don’t even have one.  It is about getting activity credit for doing housework, yard work for those that are just starting all the way to keeping track of everything you eat and drink each day for those that are more advanced in their exercise routine.  All you need to do is get a team together of just 2 people or up to 10.  Your team can be your spouse, family, friends, or co-workers, visit the Live Healthy North Texas website and register your team, then join us at the January 14th Signature luncheon for an inspiring kick off to the Challenge!

LR Class XXV Social Services Present A Brighter Tomorrow

Leadership Richardson Class XXV, "The Sterling Class", was presented by the Social Services Committee, which included Chelsea Schmidt, Bill Flori, Chip Izard, Lisa Marshall, William Gordon and their ROC Rick Helfers, shown here. William Gordon tells us about his experience:

The Social Services session taught us that there is a whole network of people ready to help in the Richardson-community, regardless of the need. We also discovered just how complicated it can be to provide such services, from regulatory requirements to financial and other more traditional business concerns.
