November 2008 This issue home | Past issues | Chamber home Inspiration Found at Regional Women’s Leadership Conference Over 300 women - and a few men! - came out to the Plano Centre to attend the North Texas Women's Conference co-hosted by the Richardson, Plano, McKinney, and Garland Chambers of Commerce. The event was a huge success as opening speaker Suzie Humphreys jolted us up with her amusing portrayal of the bitter sweet ups and downs in life. Laughing into the break we found some refreshments while strolling through the few booths in the aisles as we prepared to learn from some of our most successful local women leaders. Executives from Cisco, Southwest Airlines, Match.com, and Woman that Soar shared with us how to learn from their experiences - what to do, what not to do, and how to become the next successful woman executive. We all took notes as they shared their secrets with high heels in the boardroom. Our breakout sessions included Nancy Barry's information about working in multi-generational workplace, Marny Lifshen guide through networking for women, and Dr. Jane Sadler's wellness advice. We were covered on all aspects of beting a successful woman in business. The event closed with one on one sessions with coaching sessions provided by the International Business Coaching Association. The event was buzzing with great information, wonderful people, and exciting take-aways for all of the attendees. We are all looking forward to making this an annual event with even better and more exciting information for next year's event.
