September 2008 This issue home | Past issues | Chamber home AT&T Considering Richardson for 300 Jobs As recently reported in the media, AT&T is negotiating with a Richardson building owner for the relocation of a 300-employee customer service center which is currently located in the company’s Akard Street complex in downtown Dallas. In July, AT&T announced that it would be moving its corporate headquarters from San Antonio to Dallas, and the move is causing AT&T to shift some of its local workforce to make room downtown for transferees from the Alamo City. Richardson Joins Other Local Chambers to Host Regional Women’s Leadership Conference on October 23 Richardson joins the Garland, McKinney, and Plano Chambers of Commerce in October to host one of the most compelling and exciting women’s conferences in North Texas in 2008. The conference, titled North Texas Women: Learning, Leading, Living, will be a full day conference on October 23 from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm at the Plano Centre, located at 200 East Spring Creek Parkway in Plano. ViewPoint Bank is the title sponsor of this year’s event. Other sponsors include University of Texas at Dallas and Strasburger & Price, LLP. This incredible event, expected to attract more than 500 professional women from across North Texas, will showcase both local and national leaders who will inspire participants with their stories on learning, leading and living. The opening day of their retreat is Friday, Sept. 19 at the Stony Ranch Leading Edge Challenge Course. MetroPCS will host Class XXIV for the second day of the retreat on Sept. 20. We welcome MetroPCS as a new session host of Leadership Richardson this year. |
