June 2008 This issue home | Past issues | Chamber home Chamber Institutes Convenience Fee Pricing for Events The Chamber is now offering a new program for customers making reservations to events using the Internet. Reservations made using the online reservation system will be charged at the current rates while customers who email or call in their reservation will be charged a $5 convenience fee for the service. The convenience fee program offered by the Chamber follows the trend being offered by many profit and non-profit organizations to encourage customers to use the Internet for reservations. The convenience to the online customer is the speed and security with which reservations can be made. For example, online reservations for events like the Signature Luncheon Event Series will remain at their current level of $35 online for members and $40 for non-members. Customers who wish to email or call in their reservation will be charged $40 for members and $45 for non-members. Late fees will still apply if reservations are made after the reservation deadline or for walk-in customers the day of the event. The convenience fee program goes into effect on June 23.
