The Richardson Chamber of Commerce is once again planning to attend the 14th Annual Partners in Mobility in Austin on May 28th and 29th. This annual trek to Austin is done in support of local and regional transportation issues. Meeting in the off-session year with key elected officials as well as TXDOT and the state commissioners is a vital part of the chamber’s public affairs program and brings attention to key transportation issues impacting the Richardson area. It’s also a great time to get to know other chamber and civic leaders and elected officials who will participating In this visit. Activities kick-off on Wednesday, May 28th at 4:30 p.m. with a discussion on priority transportation issues that will be taken to the next Legislative session in January 2009. Following the discussion, will be a reception for regional leaders, state legislators, Texas Transportation Commission members, TXDOT officials and transportation advocates. On Thursday morning, May 29th, there will be a presentation to the Texas Transportation Commission.

A block of rooms have been reserved at the Omni Hotel, 700 San Jacinto St, in downtown Austin, but they will go quickly. If you are interested in carpooling to Austin, please contact John Jacobs at 972-792-2802. John will depart on Wednesday morning and will return Thursday afternoon after the morning presentation.
