April 2008 This issue home | Past issues | Chamber home ARTA Travel Wins American Express Travel Representative Excellence Award ARTA Travel announced today that it was named a winner of the prestigious American Express Travel 2007 Representative Excellence Award. ARTA Travel is one of only 27 members of the American Express U.S. Representative Travel Network to receive the award, which recognizes strong performance in sales and customer service. ARTA Travel will be honored and join other winners on a seven-day trip to South Africa hosted by the American Express Retail Travel Network, in partnership with Abercrombie & Kent, South African Tourism and South African Airways. The American Express Representative Excellence Award honors the achievements of the Representative Travel Network member agencies that have reached superior sales results driving cruise and tour supplier goals and have secured the highest year-over-year sales growth. ARTA Travel is the only north Texas travel agency & management company to receive this high honor. “It took determination, focus and a lot of hard work to attain the level of performance required to receive a Representative Excellence Award; and I am pleased to recognize ARTA Travel” said Ellen Bettridge, vice president, U.S. Retail Travel Network, American Express Travel. “ARTA Travel has represented the American Express brand well and delivered extraordinary results in 2007.” The trip to South Africa, tailored specifically for the Representative Excellence Award winners, will take place from June 4 – 10 and includes a stay in the historic city of Capetown at the famed Mount Nelson Hotel, an Orient-Express property. After exploring the city, the group will travel by air into the Sabi Sands area to witness the natural beauty and exotic wildlife at Kruger National Park and will be hosted there by Sabi Sabi and Lions Sands, two incredible safari luxury lodges. “We are very proud to have won this exclusive award in our first year of eligibility” said Steve McSwain, Executive Vice President, ARTA Travel. “Joining the American Express Travel Network just 14 months ago has allowed us to provide a higher service level and more value to our clients.” ARTA Travel has provided a variety of travel services since inception in 1980.
