December 2007 This issue home | Past issues | Chamber home Richardson Chamber of Commerce Honors 2007 Volunteer Award Winners The Richardson Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce the winners of the 2007 volunteer awards. Volunteers are such an important part of what makes our organization successful. Thanks to all of the volunteers throughout the year for their commitments and efforts! Small Business of the Year Award: This award is presented to a Richardson small business for their successes as measured by years of operation, and/or growth, and/or community service. This year’s recipient is Mulvihill Asset Management. Mulvihill Asset Management is led by Hank Mulvihill. Mulvihill Asset Management® was founded in 1987 by Hank N. Mulvihill, Jr., CCM®, CWS®, CFP®. The firm provides investments and comprehensive financial management for high net worth individuals, their families and organizations. For local governments and corporations, Mulvihill Asset Management® provides cash management, investment management and advisory services, pension services and executive compensation services. Mulvihill Asset Management® is currently registered in 16 states and has clients in Europe, Canada, Mexico and Asia. Volunteer of the Year Award: The volunteer of the year award is presented to a volunteer who has gone above and beyond to support the Richardson Chamber of Commerce. This year’s recipient is Mark Kobilka, owner of On the Mark Printing. Mr. Kobilka has served as an Ambassador to the Chamber as well as sitting on the Advisory Board. He attends most every event the Chamber produces and is willing to help out at any time. This year he has specifically volunteered to help with such events as New Teachers Luncheon and the 20th Annual Golf Tournament. As an Ambassador, he also supports the new businesses in the area by attending Ribbon Cuttings. Rookie of the Year Award: This award is presented to the most outstanding rookie that have served on a committee(s) or event activity for a year or less. This year our recipient is Gena Evans. Gena has had an exceptional year volunteering with the Chamber while being the Vice President of Commercial Lending at American National Bank. She served as both an Ambassador and as a committee member for the Golf Tournament. Mrs. Evans has been to an overwhelming majority of events this year as an Ambassador and always seems willing to lend a hand whenever needed. She is a true promoter of the Chamber and this was instrumental in the decision making process for this award. Committee of the Year Award: Presented to the committee that has performed in an outstanding manner to achieve their goals during the year. This year’s recipient is the Richardson Young Professionals Committee. In its first year, the Young Professionals Committee has promoted after-hours events, community involvement and has strived to bring growth to not only themselves but the Chamber. Chaired by Jill Blevins, Kelly Bowman and Andrew Hawkins, this committee continues to exceed all goals and challenges to inspire, influence and champion young adults in business and the Richardson community. Ambassador of the Year Award: Ambassadors recruit and retain new members, welcome new member companies with ribbon cutting ceremonies, welcome and engage new members at new member orientation, work with the annual membership drive and act as hosts at a variety of special events and programs. Sandra Moudy devotes many hours as an outstanding member of the Ambassadors Club within the Richardson Chamber. Not only does she promote the Chamber at events dealing with the Chamber, but she promotes it on her own personal time as well. Sandra is a dedicated member of the Chamber in all areas and her help and support has not gone unnoticed.Action News is a monthly publication of the Richardson Chamber of Commerce Communications Department.
