Small Business Award: This award is presented to a Richardson small business for their success as measured by years of operation, and/or growth, and/or community service. The 2006 recipient is Casa Milagro. Casa Milagro is co-owned by Ed Galvan and Arnold Nitishin. Volunteer(s) of the Year Award: The volunteer of the year award is presented to a volunteer who has gone above and beyond to support the Richardson Chamber of Commerce. The 2006 recipient is Bill Wallace, president of Wallace Financial Group. Rookie(s) of the Year Award: Presented to the most outstanding rookie(s) that have served on a committee or event activity for a year or less. We had two recipients: Kelly Bowman and Jill Blevins. Neither of them are rookies to the Chamber as both have been employed with RCC, but as volunteers, both are in their first year. Committee(s) of the Year Award: Presented to the committee that has performed in an outstanding manner to achieve their goals during the year. This year’s recipient is the Women in Leadership Committee. In its first year, 2006, the Women in Leadership Committee promoted quarterly luncheons to sold out crowds, worked to promote women in business, mentor college students and create positive networking opportunities. Chaired by Erica Yaeger and Bonnie Perry, this committee continues to exceed their goals to inspire, influence and champion powerful women in business. Ambassador of the Year Ambassadors recruit and retain new members, welcome new member companies with ribbon cutting ceremonies, welcome and engage new members at new member orientation, work on the annual membership drive and act as hosts at a variety of special events and programs.
