The Annual Volunteer Awards are presented to member companies and volunteers whose service and dedication to the Richardson Chamber of Commerce has been exceptional in the past year. Nominations for the 2007 awards are being accepted from the membership at the Chamber office through November 15th. Nominations should be submitted in writing to Paul Bendel at the Chamber office either by email and regular mail. A nomination may be submitted using the Nomination Form on the Chamber’s website or writing a letter of nomination. In either case, the nomination must state the nominee's qualifications and include brief comments from the person submitting the nomination about why the nominee is deserving of this award. Only RCC members are eligible for Volunteer Awards. Download nomination form here. Nominations will be reviewed and winners selected by an anonymous selection committee and announced a chamber event in early 2008. The Chamber will present four Volunteer Awards for service in 2007: Small Business Award: The 2006 recipient was Casa Milagro, co-owned by Edward Galvan and Arnold Nitishin. Volunteer of the Year Award: The 2006 recipient was Bill Wallace, president of Wallace Financial Group, who chaired the Signature Luncheon Committee. Rookie of the Year Award: In 2006, the award was presented to Kelly Bowman of LegacyTexas Bank and Jill Blevins of Texans Credit Union for their involvement in the Annual Golf Classic. Committee of the Year Award: The 2006 recipient is the Women In Leadership Committee. In its first year, 2006, the Women in Leadership Committee organized quarterly luncheons to sold-out crowds, worked to promote women in business, mentored college students and created positive networking opportunities. The committee was co-chaired in 2006Chaired by Erica Yaeger of Richardson Living Magazine and Bonnie Perry.
