November 2007 This issue home | Past issues | Chamber home Chamber to Host Chip and Dip Appreciation Day
It may be a little known fact to most people that March 23, 2008 is National Chip and Dip Day. The Chamber’s Education Committee decided to use this festive occasion to help with the retention of valuable faculty and staff in the Richardson ISD. Therefore, the committee is organizing an effort to have chips and dips delivered to all 55 schools within the RISD during the week of March 24th. In addition to the delivery of the chips and dips, each teacher will be presented an appreciation card for the work they do in educating our children. Students in both 7th and 8th grade will compete to see who can design the best teacher appreciation card. The winning design will be printed on the front panel of the card. The Chamber is looking for businesses to host or sponsor the delivery of the chips and dips. Businesses are being asked to sponsor a school in close proximity to their business so they can become better acquainted with the local institution. In the case of some of the larger campuses, multiple sponsors are needed to ensure all teachers receive an adequate amount of chips and dip. The Education Committee is also asking area businesses to provide 2500 discount coupons that will be placed inside the cards. If the coupons are redeemable at the local business, that business will be acknowledged by the Chamber and every RISD teacher. For information on the Chips and Dips Program or to sponsor a school, please contact Randi Gordon at 972-792-2816.
