June 2007 This issue home | Past issues | Chamber home National Small Business Workshop coming to the RCC The Linksys-SKT Business Communication Solutions Small Business Roundtable is making the second stop of a national road show at the offices of the Richardson Chamber of Commerce on June 12th. This very unique and exciting small business development program is designed to promote idea-sharing and networking among small business executives on how they handle the adoption of telecommunications technology in their business. The seminar will be presented in two 90-minute sessions at the Chamber offices, 411 Belle Grove Drive. The morning session begins at 7:30 and the afternoon session begins at 12 Noon. Both sessions are free to Chamber members on an advanced reservation basis. Call Paula Addison at 972-792-2815 to make a reservation. Additional information can be found on the RCC website at www.telecomcorridor.com. Approximately 16-20 Richardson Chamber of Commerce members will participate in each session. Participants will discuss how they use and view technology. Participants will also have the opportunity to win Linksys home wireless routers in recognition of their participation in the program. Seminar participants will have the opportunity to share ideas on real world business needs with a small group of peers as well as a select few small business communications experts. They will also find out how some of the new collaboration tools and technologies could add value to their business. Unlike seminars and other sessions where participants play a passive listening-only role, the Roundtable program promotes active learning through the sharing of experiences in a dynamic discussion group. The program is based on recent business research studies sponsored by Cisco that show that small business owners and managers learn about new technology best from peers and trusted advisors. Linksys, a division of Cisco Systems, Inc., is a recognized global leader in VoIP, Wireless and Ethernet networking for home, SOHO (Small Office, Home Office) and small business users.
