Help the Chamber Honor New Teachers

On August 16, 2007, the Richardson Chamber of Commerce will welcome new teachers to the Richardson Independent School District (RISD) with its 49th Annual New Teachers Luncheon.

Unlike most years, the teachers will get an extra special welcome by hearing Scott O’Grady, a retired Captain of the U.S. Air Force. Mr. O’Grady will tell his harrowing tale of how his plane was shot down in Bosnia and how his leadership and training was able to save his life.

“Return with Honor” could not be a more appropriate title for the addition of almost 500 new teachers to the RISD. The Chamber prides itself on promoting education each year and being able to welcome teachers into the area with such a unique program is particularly fitting.
