48th Annual New Teachers Luncheon To Feature Prominent Dallas Entrepreneur

Texans Credit UnionThe Richardson Chamber of Commerce's 48th Annual New Teachers Luncheon, presented by Texans Credit Union, will honor more than 450 new Richardson Independent School District teachers on Aug. 3 at the Renaissance Hotel.  Albert C. Black, Jr., founder, president and CEO of On-Target Supplies and Logistics, will deliver the keynote address.

Albert C. BlackThe event begins with check-in and registration at 11 a.m. and festivities get underway at 11:30. RCC Chairman of the Board Paul Voelker will emcee the luncheon and welcome the new teachers.

A limited number of seats are still available for $35 for members, and $45 for non-members. Contact the Chamber office at 972-792-2800 or log on to the Chamber’s Web site for more information.

Albert C. Black was born in 1959, the youngest of seven children and raised in the Frazier Courts housing projects in South Dallas.  He graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas with a general studies degree, with a focus on business and political science. He received an M.B.A. from the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University. 

Early in life Black became an entrepreneur – one with an agenda to create a successful business in the inner city community where he grew up.  He founded On-Target in 1982 with his wife and two other partners. As president he developed the company’s mission and values and managed the daily challenges of a start up business.  On-Target is located in southern Dallas with additional offices and warehouse operations in Houston, Glenrose, Plano, Sherman and Tucson, Arizona. Its client list includes Texas Instruments, TXU, EDS, AT&T, Alcatel and many more.

Black's wife Gwyneith serves On-Target as vice president of business relationships. He has three children: Oliver Victor Black, Albert C. Black, III (Tre’) and Cora René Black.

The Annual New Teachers Luncheon honors new teachers entering the Richardson Independent School District (RISD). Since 1958, area businesses, organizations and individuals have expressed their strong interest in maintaining quality education for the students, faculty and staff of RISD by supporting the annual New Teachers Luncheon.
