The Texas Tax Reform Commission is a bipartisan group of 24 Texans who will develop proposals to modernize the state tax system and provide long-term property tax relief as well as sound financing for public schools. The luncheon will be held at The Richardson Hotel, 701 E. The Richardson Chamber of Commerce’s monthly Signature Luncheon on April 13 will feature remarks by John Sharp, former Texas comptroller, on “Reform of Public School Finance.” Sharp was appointed in September 2005 to chair the Texas Tax Reform Commission by Gov. Rick Perry, and he is currently a principal at Ryan & Company, a Dallas-based tax consulting firm.
