RCC Honors Recipients Of Annual Awards

At the board's March meeting, 2005 Chairman Charles W. Eisemann, left, presented six annual RCC awards to: Joe Hinke, Kitty Goddard, Stu Schlackman, Lela Miller, Erica Yaeger, Dale Litton and Judy Parsons.

 

The Richardson Chamber of Commerce announced the recipients of its 2005 membership awards at its monthly board meeting on March 22. They are as follows:

“Small Business of the Year”
Richardson Living Magazine

“Volunteer of the Year”
Lela Miller, owner of A Great Storage Place

“Rookie of the Year”
Judy Parsons, ViewPoint Bank

“Committee of the Year”
Golf Classic Steering Committee

"Growth and Resources Award"
Dale Litton, Texas Instruments

"Ambassador of the Year"
Lela Miller, owner of A Great Storage Place

The “Small Business of the Year Award” is presented to a Richardson small business for its success as measured by years of operation, and/or growth, and/or community service.   

Richardson Living Magazine was founded by Erica Yaeger, Kitty Goddard and Cindy Parker in May 2004. The bi-monthly publication has enjoyed a 40 percent growth in ad revenue over the past two years. It is mailed to more than 15,000 Richardson households and an additional 5,000 copies are distributed throughout the city.

The “Volunteer of the Year Award” is presented to a member that has gone above and beyond to support the Richardson Chamber of Commerce.  

Miller has served as an ambassador of the Chamber for more than 18 years and was chairman of the “runners” during the 2005 membership drive. The “runners” deliver new member packages and pick up membership dues during the drive. 

The “Rookie of the Year Award” is presented to the most outstanding rookie that has served on a committee for a year or less. 

Parsons is a member of the RCC’s Board of Directors, was a team chairman during the 2005 membership drive and is on the Richardson Business Breakfast’s Steering Committee. 

The “Committee of the Year Award” is presented to the committee that has performed in an outstanding manner to achieve its goals during the year.

The Golf Classic committee is chaired by Joe Hinke, Stu Schlackman and Diane Wardrup. The 2005 Golf Classic was the most successful tournament since 2000.

The "Growth and Resources Award" is presented to a member that has performed in an outstanding manner to help recruit new members to the RCC.

Litton was the top sales generator during the 2005 membership campaign.

The "Ambassador of the Year" is awarded to the Ambassador's Club member that earns the most points for attendance at ribbon cuttings, luncheons, sales and working new member and public relations cards.
