November 2005 • Volume 2, Issue 11 This issue home | Past issues | Chamber home Chamber President Elected To Economic Development Board The Nominating Committee of the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) has unanimously elected Bill Sproull, president and CEO of the Richardson Chamber of Commerce, to its Board of Directors. The election took place Wednesday, Sept. 28 at IEDC's 2005 Annual Conference in Chicago, Ill., where more than 1,000 registrants participated in the successful three-day networking and learning opportunity. Sproull will serve a two-year term on the board along with nine other newly elected members. "The International Economic Development Council is the world's leading economic development organization for professionals working in the economic development arena," said newly elected chair Joseph A. Marinucci. "It is both an honor and a pleasure to serve on this board, and I look forward to working with Mr. Sproull and the other members to provide leadership to IEDC as the organization continues to fulfill its goal of delivering quality information, education, and outstanding development opportunities to its members." Sproull was also recently appointed by Texas Gov. Rick Perry to the Texas Emerging Technology Fund Advisory Committee. In addition, he serves on the Board of the Texas Economic Development Council. Headquartered in Washington, D.C., the IEDC's mission is to provide leadership and excellence in economic development for communities, members and partners.
