Membership Has Its Privileges Would you like to increase your exposure, influence, and overall presence within the Chamber and the business community? If you answered yes, then the Richardson Chamber Ambassador's Club might be looking for you. One of the most active and visible committees within the Chamber, the Ambassador's Club is a group of active Chamber representatives dedicated to recruiting new members and helping existing ones maximize their membership benefits through volunteer, relationship building, and professional development opportunities. “The Ambassador's Club is the ultimate in involvement,” Celisa Willson, Iris Advertising, said. “You get in front of the ‘movers and shakers' of the Chamber, stay informed about economic development and the community, and receive recognition at functions.” As a vital part of Chamber public relations, Ambassadors volunteer their time to help insure that Chamber events run smoothly and that the organization's membership remains strong and well informed. Ambassador's Club members are highly visible and readily accessible at events such as PM Connections, EarlyNet, and 1st Thursday Luncheons. Members are always distinguishable by the red “Ambassador” ribbons that they wear. As some of the Chamber's top liaisons to membership, Ambassadors play a vital role in member retention, recruitment, and communication. Each Ambassador has made a commitment to addressing member needs through information and support, and to ensuring that questions or concerns are heard by the Richardson Chamber. The efforts of the Ambassadors help to keep the Chamber in tune with its membership. Participation as an Ambassador provides the volunteer with extended business contacts through active association with other volunteers and members, professional and community recognition for both the volunteer and their business, as well as expanded communication and marketing skills. “Being an Ambassador has enabled me to make key contacts and develop long-lasting relationships,” Willson said. “In my opinion, it is the best volunteer opportunity for members. Your contribution of time is equally rewarded.” The Ambassador's Club meets regularly on the first Thursday of every month from 8-9 a.m. at the Chamber offices, located at 411 Belle Grove Dr. in Richardson.
