The Chamber is pleased to announce that for the second year in a row Owens Country Sausage, the long-time Richardson-based business, will be the title sponsor of the Golf Classic. We are just delighted that Owens will be the title sponsor of this year's golf classic, said tournament co-chair Diane Wardrup. We appreciate their commitment to the Chamber and the community through this sponsorship. The committee looks forward to a full field of players and another fabulous tournament. Wardrup also announced several additional sponsorships for the tournament, Holmes-Murphy has signed on as an Augusta sponsor. The steering committee is extremely excited to announce that for the first time in several years golfers will have the opportunity to win a new car in the Par-3 Hole-in-One Contest, Wardrup added. We have two new cars that can be won if a golfer makes a hole in one of the specific par three holes. Many thanks to Reliable Chevrolet and North Central Ford for providing cars for the tournament. Other members which have committed to sponsoring the Golf Classic are Change Technology, At Your Service Catering, Innovative Sign Group, Nortel, The Richardson Hotel, and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas. There are several of the major sponsor packages still available for this year's tournament. There are also smaller packages such as hole sponsors and goodie bag sponsors. The tournament has long been one of the Chamber's most exciting and highly successful events. Make your plans to become a sponsor or player in the Annual RCC Golf Classic. Golfers, mark your calendars for Sept. 23. That is the date of the Richardson Chamber of Commerce's 18th Annual Golf Classic at Sherrill Park. A full field of golfers will compete in the tournament with the top three teams receiving awards. Players will also have the opportunity to compete for hole prizes, a couple of new cars, will receive a goodie bag full of gifts, and enjoy an awards banquet at the end of the tournament.
