The Chamber is back up to full staff after two recent hirings. A third hiring is a newly created position in the Membership Department. Maria Romaniello, who has more than 20 years of sales and marketing experience, began Jan. 18 as the Chamber's new Membership Development Executive. "The economy is turning around and membership is picking up," said Bill Sproull, the Chamber's president and CEO. "This new position was created to support that. Maria brings a great deal of knowledge and talent to the Chamber and will help us grow our memberships." Starla Middlebrooks is the new research manager in the Economic Development division. She will be responsible for researching, creating and preparing all of the data and information required for the Chamber's economic development efforts and initiatives. She is a 2004 graduate of the University of Texas at Dallas with a bachelor's of arts degree in economics and finance. While in college and since graduation, she worked in both financial, insurance and retail industries. Middlebrooks grew up in Waco and currently resides in McKinney with her husband who also works in Richardson. Middlebrooks replaces Maria Smith who accepted a position late last year with the Texas Workforce Commission in Austin. Marion Davis is the new accounting assistant, and replaces Brandi Anderson. Davis is an experienced office administrator with an extensive knowledge of accounting procedures, including payroll, tax preparation, invoicing, banking and customer service. |
