January 2005 Volume 2, Issue 1 This issue home | Action home | Chamber home Thousands Enjoy Chamber's Annual Christmas Parade Community and Chamber members alike turned out in force to launch the Richardson holiday season with its 33rd Annual Christmas Parade in early December. Under the theme We're All Kids At Christmas, the event attracted 130 entries, more than 3,000 participants and many more spectators. Parade Committee Co-chair Susan Fischer said, The Richardson Christmas Parade signifies the beginning of the holiday season for me. It is great to see the kids and adults having so much fun participating in the parade. And it is wonderful that so many businesses come together for the event. Parade participants representing numerous businesses, civic organizations, schools, churches and special interest groups competed for a variety of awards. The Music Learning Band accrued the highest youth score, earning the Chairman's Award. Accumulating the most points in the adult categories was President's Award winner Firewheel Church. Visit the Chamber's Web site for a complete list of winners and photos. Special thanks to parade sponsors: Title Rudolph Sponsor Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas; Christopher L. Barnes, DDS; Texans Credit Union; Richardson Regional Medical Center; Nortel; the three Richardson Rotaries; Sign-A-Rama; Arboretum Estates, and Regions Bank. |
