Leadership Richardson Participants Brighten Children's Christmas At Santa's Village

Leadership Richardson participants Ted Ellis and Pam Kirkland volunteer at Richardson's annual Santa' Village as part of their December class schedule.

Thirty-seven people began their journey toward becoming more effective leaders last September by participating in the 20th Class of Leadership Richardson. They'll graduate May 13.

Fall session hosts were Richland College, Texans Credit Union, First Bank of Canyon Creek and The Eisemann Center.

In December, class participants, along with several students from the Richardson Youth Leadership program, volunteered at Santa's Village for the annual pre-school day. Their efforts allowed special needs and disadvantaged children the opportunity to experience Santa's Village.

December's class session also focused on cultural arts in Richardson and included a back-stage tour of The Eisemann Center by Dennis Kratz from the Richardson Arts Commission.

The December session was planned by classmates Jean Conway ( Richland College), Carl Hardaway (Nortel Networks), Jeanne Guerra (RISD) and Don Magner (City of Richardson).

The City of Richardson will host the city government session on Jan. 14 at the Civic Center. The session will feature presentations by the mayor and city manager and a city council panel.

Classmates Ted Ellis (Ted R. Ellis, C.P), Stacey Lawrence, (Focal Impact Marketing Partner), AJ Sheek (MetLife), Shaunna Sowell (TI), and Ellen Steger (RISD Council of PTAs) are in charge of planning the January session.

Leadership Richardson is a program of the Richardson Chamber of Commerce and works to strengthen and transform the community of Richardson through a program of leadership development, community study and involvement.
